Pashupati,

Short answer is, yes. The first disposition is only used as an intermediate step, if needed, on the way to a final disposition. If the condition doesn't require a modify or remeasure, then you go straight to the last page and enter the final disposition. If you are selecting Use As Is, then you must include a statement explaining why it is acceptable to continue using a part that is nonconforming. Here is a list of the disposition states and their definition.

Conforming. The item conforms to requirements.
Use-as-is. The item is nonconforming, but is allowed by SRF and our customer with
justification. Customer allowance may be agreed to in advance, or specific agreement
may be required before the NCR closes.
Return to Vendor. The item is nonconforming and will be returned to the vendor. The
vendor may scrap or repair the item. If the vendor returns the item, it will be inspected
and evaluated in the same way as a new item.
Reject. The item is nonconforming and may be scrapped or used for a non-production
purpose. Segregation and/or labeling is critical.
Hold/Remeasure. The item may be nonconforming and requires additional measurement
to confirm its status.
Hold/Modify. The item is nonconforming and requires modification. The modification may
or may not bring the item into full conformance to requirements.

Subject: NCR questions

Hi There
I notice the NCR format change, there are first and second dispositions. The first one only says "Hold/Re measure" and "Hold/Modify". How do we clear if we need to "use as is". Go to second?
