[Pansophy] General problem with SN missing travelers ?

Thanks Megan
For this specific case – Yes I knew that it was already solved – Thank you for your prompt action
my question is more why the problem continues to come up , and if there is something we can do to error proof the system so that the SN can always be available (assuming of course that the disassembly travelers are filled out , and inventory traveler is available and completed)
It seems to be a recurring problem that causes lots of frustration for not only the Pansophy Team – but also the users
Is there something we could be doing also for the CEBAF SNs ?
Thanks Anne

Subject: RE: General problem with SN missing travelers ?
Anne,
This issue has already been solved. The serial numbers had already been in through inventory and they were already in the system. It was caused by a space in the field type (ex [[BLBSSN]] << BLBSSN>>) for the SN when we receive it from the author. When reviewing a traveler to convert to the system, it is sometimes hard to notice small mistakes like this.
To prevent any delays in completing the travelers, we don’t know that there are any issues unless someone contacts us. We try to get to things as fast as we can. If one feels that something is more urgent and will cause major delays, they are welcome to call. I know both me and Valerie have made our numbers available to all.
This issue was resolved within 30 minutes of us receiving an email about it yesterday.
Megan

Subject: [Pansophy] General problem with SN missing travelers ?
Hello all
There seems to be ongoing problems with SN not being available in the travelers - I wondered if there is a more systemic problem happening ?
I had thought this was limited to CEBAF due to disassembly travelers not being filled out correctly , however it seems to be affecting all projects – where because the inspection group is the first one needing the SN, they must request the SN be added – this results in delays completing the travelers
here is the latest example below, which is one of the WFO projects (HE ) , so these parts would have definitely come in through inventory
Could you please put this problem (the lack of SN in travelers) on your list to investigate
Thanks for your help
Anne

Michelle, We inspected two BLBPs, one BLBS, one BLXD. Still working on getting the travelers filled out. At least the SNs are in now.
Thanks,
Liang

To clarify, I am sure that Liang and I visually inspected F10041075-H-002 & 005, and F10052775-H-001. Those should still be there ready to be measured. Not sure about F10023437-H-002 visual inspection, but it should also be on the shelf since I believe it was also requested for the CMM.
Thanks,
Michelle

I believe Liang started processing the traveler documentation today, there was an issue with the SNs not being in the system but that has now been corrected. I believe they still require dimension inspection, we only performed the visual inspection tasks listed on the traveler.
I'm not positive that we inspected the short bellows (F10023437-H-002), I have the traveler printout but didn't write any notes on it. Liang might know more about that.
Thanks,
Michelle

Hello Michelle
Was the inspection for the first 3 Bellows completed including the traveler documentation ?
If so which other bellows still need to be inspected using the charge code from Katherine ?
Thanks Anne

Hi Anne,
Sorry I'm a bit confused which 3 you're asking for. I thought the first 3 from the first lot had already been brought and Liang and I visually inspected them in the CMM. Please let me know if I'm mistaken.
Thanks,
Michelle

Hello Michelle
Could you please request the first 3 (of each?) to be brought to the CMM room from Inventory - they should be left on the shelf . I do not know when we will be able to do them (CEBAF is taking priority )
The only way to keep the charge codes straight would be to not bring any others until the first 3 can get done
Anne

HEBEL1 for the first lot, which is the 3 parts about to go through CMM. HEBEL2 thereafter.
Total is ~ 100 parts total (includes all bellows & spools) = parts for 10 CM.
They are not needed urgently. Inspecting the first articles (3 needing CMM) is always a priority, and the rest can be inspected when convenient.
Thanks,
Katherine
