[Pansophy] How to make a batch traveler SNSPPU-ELEC-TUNMT

Larry,

We are using the new traveler naming convention in SNSPPU project, so I have renamed your traveler and uploaded the new version. I also changed the username to a drop-down and changed the batch sn to a type-in field.
Also, I added some D3 email names. Please verify my changes and if you are okay with them then upload the document to the "Ready For Approval" folder.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks to all for the clarification.

I've uploaded the traveler, procedure and a template Excel file to the Draft Trav folder:
https://jlabdoc.jlab.org/docushare/dsweb/Get/Document-240691/SNSPPU-CM-INSP-TUNMT_R1.docm

Please take a look and let me know if you think it's ready for routing.

Thanks,
Larry

Hi Valerie,

I can chime in for some of these:

  * These are tuner motors for PPU
  * They aren't referenced in any other traveler
  * I'm fine with assigning a batch number
  * I understand that it can't be queried, and that's okay

Thanks,
Naeem

Larry,

Which part(s) are these? Project?

If the individual serial numbers are used/referenced in any other traveler then they would need to be separate variable fields. If they are Not, then you could assign a "batch number" as the serial number, match it to however you name your excel spreadsheet, and upload the spreadsheet.

Remember, that we cannot query what is inside the spreadsheet, so if that is needed, keep it in mind.

Subject: [Pansophy] How to make a batch traveler

Hello Pansophy team,

I would really appreciate some advice on how best to create a batch traveler. The acceptance test is done in more of an assembly line model, so one data point is taken on a batch of, typically, 30 parts at a time. Then all the parts are moved to the next test setup, and 30 of the next data points are taken. This is much more easily captured in tabular form. To avoid transcription errors, it is desirable to upload that form directly, into one traveler for the batch of parts.

My rough draft is basically

1- Enter the serial numbers of all the parts in the batch.

2- Perform the inspection using the referenced procedure.

3- Record all of the test data in the referenced Excel template.

4- Upload completed Excel spreadsheet.

I'm not sure if step 1 should contain 30 SN variables? Or should step 1 be a text field, to type in all of the serial numbers in the batch?

I can't find any examples of a similar traveler, so I'd be grateful for any advice on how best to lay out the steps.

Thanks,

Larry
