[Pansophy] New Folders in SRF_Project Area

Hello Valerie

I just spoke with Naeem and now understand better his intent - it seems he only wants to use this folder for file transfer, and not for Project Records related to the Ed Daly's Project Process .

So based on this it would be fine if you want to transfer folder ownership to the Pansophy team . Likely what is there should be cleaned out and archived , as it dates from as long ago as 10 years, or more - however I can only speak to the folders that I created. We may want to update the "readme to make it clear that this is not for project records, and is only for file transfers

I did find in the past this folder started to get used instead of Docushare , (John Mammosser was doing this ) which was likely why I blocked people from using it a long time ago , so there is a risk people might try to do this again

Anne

Anne,

We are managing folder in DocuShare, however this request is for the M:drive.

I currently can't create directories in the M:\SRF_Projects, which is where we would like to create the folders.
You can access through the file browser.

This is the current listing:
drwxrwxr-x 10 mcewen 1544 425 Sep 17 2019 SRF_Projects

These are the files currently in that directory:
drwxrwxr-x 9 mcewen users 483 Oct 23 2015 Copy of 2015 SRF Project Spending Reports
-rwxrwxr-x 1 mcewen users 724774 Oct 13 2015 Copy of DRAFT ARD Budget 13Oct2015-Rev6.xlsx
drwxrwxr-x 2 eakers users 159 Oct 18 2021 ENVAC2
drwxrwxr-x 5 eakers users 200 Sep 18 2019 EnvAcc
drwxrwxr-x 4 4294967292 users 482 Jan 21 2021 EnvCu
drwxrwxr-x 8 mcewen users 345 Apr 14 2015 Misc Project Reports 2013 Mammosser_Kneisel and others
drwxrwxr-x 2 mcewen users 144 Oct 4 14:23 ReadMe
-rwxrwxr-x 1 6940 users 44544 Mar 25 2015 Thumbs.db
drwxrwxr-x 4 mcewen users 42 Jun 16 2016 US-LARP

Is it okay with you if I put in a request to have the ownership of this directory moved to P-Team?

Valerie

Hi Valerie

I would be fine if the Pansophy team takes over managing these Project folders in Docushare

Thanks for your help

Naeem,

No problem. I will setup the folders.
I will get with Anne to get the permissions reset as she is still the "owner" of the area, everything goes through her.
If Anne is okay with it, I will get the permissions set so my team can make those changes without needing a second approver.

Anne,
Is this okay with you? You would still have full access, you just wouldn't need to sign off on every request.

Valerie

Hi Valerie,

Tony and I agreed that the SRF_Projects folder would be a better place to put these as opposed to the M drive in general. My previous request is now void. I am okay with the folder names that Anne suggested. Please make the folders and allow access to the SRFOPS group. I would also like access to the SRF_Projects folder as it seems to be restricted

Thanks,
Naeem

Anne,

The request is for creating folders on the M:drive.

You set up a folder /u/sgroups/SRF_Projects a while back.

If okay with you, I will create the 2 folders for Naeem in that area.

Valerie

Hi Naeem

Valerie & the Pansophy Team are actually who would set this up . We normally use the roll up level of the WBS to name the folder so there is "indexing

So I would propose the following

* 1.04.06.010: AUP RFD HOM Fabrication (Huque)

*
1.23.08 EIC RF Systems ( Daly)

Could you confirm that these titles for the folders make sense to everyone

Thanks Anne

Hi Anne,

I would like to set up AUP and EIC project folders in the SRF_Projects section of the M:Drive. I heard from Tony that you set up this area and are the current administrator. These folders will be used to ease the transfer of Level 3 documents between different people. I currently don't have any access to the folder. Could you please let me know what I need to do to get this started.

Thanks,

Naeem
