Schedule of events:

  *   3-3:15 p.m.: The event kicks off at the CEBAF Center Circle, with the debut of the 2023 Jefferson Lab T-shirt by Lab Director, Stuart Henderson.
  *   3:15 p.m.: The run/walk will start promptly at the CEBAF Center Circle.
  *   3:30-4:45 p.m.: T-Shirt distribution and refreshments will immediately follow the race at the SURA Residence Facility.
  *   4:45-6 p.m.: Awards for runners AND walkers (new this year!) will be presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall for men and women; and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place age groups for men and women. Socializing, dinner and games will also continue taking place during this time.

Road closures & parking guidance
Between 2:30-4 p.m., there will be roads blocked off including Hofstadter Road, Lawrence Drive, Rutherford Road, Pauli Drive and Kelvin Drive to accommodate runner safety.

Parking lots near SSC, ARC and the CEBAF Center will be affected at this time. Employees who need to leave the campus during these hours should consider parking in the EEL or the ES&H building lots and depart the lab via Rattley Road to Hogan Drive.
While egress from the lab will be available via Rattley Road to Hogan Drive, please be aware that traffic may be periodically stopped on these roads as participants cross to attend post-race activities at the SURA Residence Facility.

There will be no parking at the SURA Residence Facility for the entire day (other than for current guests). The CEBAF Center parking lot will be open for parking as an alternative. The CEBAF Center parking lot will open after the completion of the race.

Charging guidance
Volunteering? Participating? Attending? No matter what your involvement, the Run-A-Round is considered a work time event and should be charged using the “project” code RUNRND.

  *   Staff may charge up to 2 hours for actual time participating or attending the event. For example:

     *   If you attend between 3-5 p.m., you may charge two hours to RUNRND.
     *   If you work the event between 3-4 p.m. and attend between 4-5:30 p.m., you may charge up to 2.5 hours to RUNRND.

  *   Staff may charge actual volunteer hours for pre & post event activities (outside of 3-6 p.m., May 17).
Please note that the RUNRND project code cannot be used for overtime. To avoid incurring any overtime charges, hourly staff must get approval in advance from their supervisor to adjust their regularly scheduled hours accordingly. Register your family!
To be eligible for awards, runners and walkers must register online before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16. Participants may pick up race bibs on Wednesday, May 16, between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the CEBAF Center lobby or in the CEBAF Center Circle, depending on the weather. Race day registration will still be available at these times (with no award eligibility). 2023 DOE MILE RUN/WALK
The lab is participating in the eighth annual DOE Mile. This is a one-mile walk/run competition among Department of Energy (DOE) lab employees and their families from labs across the nation, during the Run-A-Round.
