Subject: Office Refrigerator - breakroom -second floor

Dear Colleagues,
While retrieving my lunch from the office refrigerator, I noticed a concerning issue that requires our immediate attention. I observed a moldy food container, and upon further inspection, I discovered multiple items that had exceeded their expiration dates, some of which had developed mold and presented potential health hazards (see attached pictures). This not only raises concerns about cleanliness but also respects the well-being of all who use the refrigerator.
These items are already disposed of in the kitchen area's trash containers. There are some steel utensils that may still be of use; the owners are welcome to retrieve them.
It is essential for all of us to demonstrate responsibility and consideration when using the office refrigerator. To ensure a clean and harmonious environment, I kindly request that we adhere to the following guidelines:

  1.  Labeling: Please consistently label your food and beverages with your name and the date. This practice helps prevent confusion and ensures that items are not mistakenly discarded.
  2.  Storage: Utilize appropriate containers or sealed bags to store your items, reducing the risk of spills and contamination. In the event of any spills or messes, please promptly clean them up.
  3.  Expiration Dates: Be diligent about the expiration dates on your items and promptly remove anything that has gone bad. Avoid letting items linger in the refrigerator for extended periods.
  4.  Respect: Show consideration for your colleagues by refraining from touching someone else's food without their explicit permission.
  5.  Space Management: Be mindful of the limited space available and avoid overloading the fridge. Ensure there is ample room for others to use, and avoid monopolizing space.
  6.  Regular Clean-Outs: Periodically, we will schedule clean-outs of the refrigerator to remove old or unclaimed items.
  7.  Shared Resource: Lastly, please remember that the office refrigerator is a shared resource. It is crucial to be considerate of your colleagues and their needs.

While specific rules regarding the use of the office refrigerator are not in place yet, adhering to these guidelines will contribute to a cleaner, more organized, and respectful shared space for all. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
