Morning,
Apologies for misunderstanding earlier messages. I think we've come to a consensus about this, but want to document it for future reference.
We want to keep the original comments (add a note that the original disposition was "reject"), but update the disposition and add why/changes in the comment box. This will keep the record of the original decision and update the NCR to a disposition that is acceptable to send to a customer. Please make sure dates when decisions/comments were made are also included. See NCR #120
L2HE NCR #120 will serve as a reference for the other spare HE cavities that were rejected but later used:
[cid:630281f5-694f-4061-883a-c28933afb8f1]
If this sounds different that what we've discussed (John and Valerie), please let me know so I can make sure we are on the same page.
Other NCRs that need this same treatment:
*
NCR #195 on cavity HE-295 in J-30
*
NCR #204 on HE-R022 in J-30 (May have passed in Traveler ID: L2HE-VTA-CAV-VTRF Traveler Seq Number: 65)
*
NCR #261 on HE-R054 in J-030 (May have passed in Traveler ID: L2HE-VTA-CAV-VTRF Traveler Seq Number: 220)
*
Possibly NCR #88 on Cav 0351 (HPR on 12-Sept-24 for string? May have passed in Traveler ID: L2HE-VTA-CAV-VTRF Traveler Seq Number: 260)
There's a few other that may have passed after further testing, but those are the high-priority ones that I believe are in CMs or the next string
I'm currently working on a revision to the NCR procedure, so I'll make sure to capture this process in the revision too.
Thanks for working together to get this sorted out,
- Ashley

Valerie,
Unfortunately, I do disagree. The initial version of the final disposition is a copy of the first disposition i.e. there is no additional information that needs to be kept as a historic record. The only aspect we could add to the first disposition is the CTB decision date of 02-Feb-2022.
My suggestion is that the final disposition should be changed to “Use as is” and a comment “Accepted by CTB as marginal and to be used in string J31 on 02-Jul-2024”.
Closing the NCR with the initial version of the disposition was simply a mistake by the corresponding author. He’s the one to blame 😉
Please let me know how you suggest to correct such mistakes in compliance with our ISO standards.
Plus, we have the issue Ashley mentioned. My personal take is that we should be more open to keeping NCRs open as long as there is no final disposition, which, given the extent such projects, can take its time.
Thanks,
John V
PS: I plan to go over some similar cases with Ashley next week, so, we might have some more of those cases.

Valerie,
I agree, we need to keep the historic record. We should discuss/develop a process for how best to do this as there are several cavities that were dispositioned "reject" while they were on hold as a spare so we could close the NCRs, so this won't be a one-off incidence. I can include the process in my NCR revision.
Have a great weekend all!

John V,
I have spoken with Tony about this NCR and I requested that the "history" of this change should not be lost.
If you merely change the entire NCR, then it breaks our ISO compliance to maintaining records.
If you don't agree with this decision, then please reach out to me.
Thank You.

This should not be added as a comment. I had asked to re-open the NCR.
Cheers,
