The parts in this traveler are temporary testing tophats and will not be installed anywhere permanently. The traveler was written some time back by Alex, when he was with chemistry. I personally was not aware of this issue. I will make sure all techs know this moving forward so we don't run into this issue again. Personally, Many of the techs are not aware of the rules and regulations of how travelers are structured. They all work with what they have in the system. I'm glad that Seth at least recorded the serial numbers somewhere in these travelers. Moving forward, we will make sure the documentation is correct before doing the work, I just submitted a list for these components even though they are test parts. We will also put in a request to have them all opened again so we can back-fill the serial numbers. I will have a conversation on this topic with the entire group.
On another topic, a quick conversation could have easily solved this without the need to remind me of the QMS process. I also fail to understand the need to include Kirk and Tony in this communication. I am always glad to respond to your requests with or without Tony and Kirk's encouragement.

Regards,
Danny Forehand

Forwarding this as a reminder to all that if a serial number doesn’t exist in the dropdown, a service request should be submitted to have them added. Having serial numbers in comment boxes goes against our QMS process and breaks our traceability and our reports. Please remind your team members to submit a service request for any missing serial numbers

Thanks!

Megan

Completion Notes:

The fields were expecting an integer and you were entering a float. The fields have been changed to floats. I also noticed that you are putting SNs in the comment box vs submitting a service request to have them added to the drop down. This is part of our QMS traceability in production and prevents reports from fully functioning. Please submit another service request to have these added. Also, please in the future add the traveler ID so we can better find the traveler you're referring to.

Have a great day.
