Dear PEPPo Collaborators:
In order to work on-site at Jefferson Lab, within the accelerator
service buildings, or the accelerator enclosure you must comply with
appropriate safety training requirements. Some of us have worked within
the accelerator site for a long time, however, many will be new to
Jefferson Lab or maybe just the accelerator buildings and beam enclosure
(tunnel). In order to help you prepare for the PEPPo installation I
have setup a wiki page with guidance and listed common safety training
requirements. In general, for those who plan to work without escort in
the accelerator enclosure the following classes should be taken (SAF100,
SAF103, SAF132A, SAF132, SAF801, SAF801kd, 6MSD).

Likewise, this Friday, May 13th marks the beginning of the six-month
shutdown (6MSD). There will be a vast amount of on-site activity and
traffic during this period. If we have any hope of completing our
installation this summer then we will at some point have a significantly
increased on-site presence and activity. In addition, we have non-zero
amount of light-construction and heavy lifting in order to place the
installation. So, in order to work effectively and safely amidst the
6MSD and ourselves I will expect that you coordinate your day-to-day
on-site installation activities through, guess who, the installation
coordinator (Joe Grames).
When your questions arise please let me know.
Joe Grames
