[PEPPo] spin tracking e- or e+

Hi,

Because the topic of e+ spin precession came up at the Ce+BAF meeting yesterday, worth sharing...

a) e- and e+ have opposite magnetic moments, so while an e- would precess in a dipole filed one way, an e+ would precess the opposite way
b) e- and e+ have opposite charges, so we know they bend oppositely as well

Consequently, for the same machine layout the spin of an e- and an e+ would have the same precession (b/c of course the B-fields always need to flip sign too).

Therefore, any spin tracking of e- is a perfectly fine proxy for spin tracking of e+.
