I completely agree with what Jennifer wrote in her email. ATOMKI group is participating in this experiment.

Dear everyone, their collaboration includes the main ATOMKI people so even though the detection using a new spectrometer is great, I wouldn't call this completely independent confirmation.

Also, the new spectrometer has only 2 arms as compared to ATOMKI's 5 arms.  I'm not sure how much this affects the results - the fact that they have 2 arms which are set at the angles where ATOMKI observed the anomaly in 8Be.  I know more arms are better but I don't know exactly why - background, calibration, look elsewhere?
