As we go into Fall and the FCCC, a focus on safety is warranted. A
recent editorial in the liberal rag from the northern aggressors
highlights this fact rather somberly.

So please if you ride, be careful out there:
* Know your route and its safety issues (pot holes, congested areas,
dangerous traffic patterns)
* Be bright, be visible
* Ride predictably, straight lines, signal your intentions
* Turn on your headlights
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2kFuQJ8-8U) and taillights!
* Communicate your route to the people that matter in your life (and
vis-versa)
* Inspect your bike regularly, is it safe for the ride?
* Don't ride into park cars!!!!!
I've been riding a bike regularly (commuting, touring and, long time
ago, racing) for over 30 years. It can be done safely! I've had my
share of incidents, some involving cars, some involved other bike
riders, some that were just me, my bike and road. Some involving
bruises, broken bones and frames. The two most serious accidents were
in the Nov/Dec months.
With that said, a safe rider is a happy rider!!!
No worries!!!!
