[Rec_bike] Week One of the 2014 FCCC

One week of the FCCC under our belt.  453miles bike commute miles!!!   
On pace to exceed last years total mileage, even with three fewer weeks 
in the FCCC.  The first week was a cycling challenge in Hampton roads 
due to the rather wet Wednesday. Clearly the individuals have 
self-declared their intentions, with Will, Chris and Dave vying for the 
most mileage leader and Mat, Arne, Tony, Nickie and Marcy going for the 
consistency award.   Hats off to Marcy who is the first female cyclist 
to enter miles in the FCCC!!!!    One day a week is great, better than 
zero days!!!  How about two days this week!!!


While bragging rights provides some motivation, I'm going to throw an 
another.  I have a mandate to clean out the garage this fall. Tony was 
the first recipient of this effort, as I sent him a studded bike tire 
from an earlier epoch of my life.   I figure he might need them in 
Nov/Dec.   This week I'm offering a pair of bike rear panniers.   These  
panniers served me well on a trip from Pgh. to DC and can be seen in the 
first and last picture of the trip summary:

panniers  and have been hanging in my garage since the trip. If you want 
them,  let me know, they are yours!!!!

Hopefully week 2 will be drier!!!  Still not too late to enter the FCCC,
