Dear RG-C students and Physics spokespersons,

I wanted to let you know that Maxime has kindly shared his scripts for analyzing RG-C data files to extract PbPt from elastic (quasielastic) NH/D3(e,e’p) events. You can find them at
/work/clas12/rg-c/Scripts.
Meanwhile, cooked files can be found at
/lustre19/expphy/volatile/clas12/rg-c/production
- depending on what you want to look at, you can check the various subdirectories. (Mohammad can give further advice). I would like to encourage you to start with your own analysis scripts (modeled after Maxime’s, if you like) to begin looking at interesting Physics quantities, for example inclusive DIS (asymmetry vs. W), SIDIS, DVCS, e+e-... or even just kinematic distributions (Q2, W, x, …) for starters. That way, we can have more eyes to check whether the data we are taking are good. Note that you can use already pre-skimmed files in
/lustre19/expphy/volatile/clas12/rg-c/production/ana_data/dst/train
(if I’m not mistaken), for instance the sidisdvcs train should contain all events in DIS kinematics (even inclusive ones), and the “gmn” train contains elastic and resonance data events, etc. You can check at
https://clasweb.jlab.org/rcdb/runs/search?runFrom=16043&runTo=&q=event_count%3E100000+and+run_start_time<https://clasweb.jlab.org/rcdb/runs/search?runFrom=16043&runTo=&q=event_count>100000+and+run_start_time>
which runs were taken with what target.

One step that I believe is still missing is to properly normalize the helicity-sorted events to the corresponding integrated charge (helicity- AND lifetime-gated FC). This will hopefully reduce systematic uncertainties. Maybe Raffaella can point us into the right direction towards figuring out how to do that. Further questions can be directed to your thesis advisors, Silvia (overall RG-C analysis coordinator) and Mohammad (regarding location of files).

Greetings - Sebastian
