Summary from Friday-Day (10/6/2022) to Saturday-Owl (10/7/2022)
General Summary:
No beam. Accelerator repairs are underway. The flushing of the RSEP8A magnets was completed Friday. The water flow rate for the magnets reached above1000 mL/min, which was the goal. However, some LCW (liquid cooling water) issue arose and had to be taken care of. It was expected that this could be fixed overnight and HCO (hot checkout) of the system be done, with beam possible by Saturday morning. However, the LCW recovery is taking longer than expected and the new expectation is that there will be no beam until Sunday mid-owl at least. Consequently, the Saturday day and swing shifts were cancelled.
Status: Solenoid and torus are off. NH3 target is ready to be polarized (+polarization). BHWP: OUT
Events accumulated:
No event
Plan:
- Once we get the beam, check Harp scans (2C11 and 2C24). (Raster off, raster FSD masked, tagger on.)
- Do Moller run with 10 nA (please note that the manual say 4 nA but we do with 10 nA)
- Send 2nA beam to FCup, raster on, raster FSD on. Check beam positions 2H01, 2C24.
- Ramp-up to 8nA
- Check raster monitoring (to make sure we are not rastering on the edge of the cell).
- Take production run with PROD66_PIN configuration for at least 20 M events
- Monitor the beam charge asymmetry on MyaViewer: work at the injector should have reduced it considerably.
- Take run with normal PROD66 configuration. The duration for each run is 4 hours OR 100 M events
- Continue for ~24 hours then ask MCC to change the HWP to IN
We will NOT have a RC meeting today, unless the prospect for beam today increases significantly.
