Welcome to the RC summary October 16

We got beam back during the night at around 3am. Beam looked good and we continued taking data till around 9am when raster (x) tripped off. LCW return pressure was also increased. We tried to reset raster but it quickly tripped off again. Per suggestion from Eugene we tried to wait till LCW pressure comes down and he tried to improve some settings. However, LCW pressure stayed up. Denny was able to contact the expert from facilities to look into it. In the meantime, Eugene found that waiting for ~5min after a trip leads to 20-25min of stable running and we could go like this forward till a fix is found. At around 2pm the pressure went down again due to the intervention of the experts from facilities and no trip since then. Fortunately not all time was lost because accelerator was also down (HallD fire alarm).

So far we collected about 150M more triggers at OUT setting. At 6pm, we will switch to IN and continue production.

As mentioned in my RC summary from yesterday, we will go into maintenance on Monday to flush the LCW pipes for torus and solenoid. Timeline for tomorrow:

  * 4.30am beam off and start ramping down torus and solenoid (will take 1 hour)
  * ~5am survey of hall to go to restricted access
  *   5:30am Start of torus/solenoid work (6-8h to finish)
  * other work (raster magnets, other things?)
  * Target work: TE measuremen? anneal?

Please let me know if there is other working to do.

Hopefully we will be back late afternoon with beam

Best,

Florian
