Dear SANE,
It was really great to hear the talk on some
of the SANE results at SPIN2014. For what it is
worth, here are a couple of things to kick around
for future talks and maybe the paper:
1) I also have found that MAID 2007 does not reproduce
spin asymmetries in the region around W=1.3 to 1.4
GeV. This is particularly true for the target
sin(phi) asymmetry in exclusive pi+ and pi0
electro production from the proton. I suspect
that this is because they don't have a Roper from
factor that matches what CLAS has found in recent
years. So it would be great to compare to the
fit of Inna Asnaryian et al. of 2013 that includes
all the CLAS data available at the time. I
managed to get the code running with a lot of
help from Cole Smith. I put the code in
~bosted/JANR_UIM/. I could try to run it
for you to get A1 and A2 versus W at different
Q2 values if you want. Of course, this is
just for the sum of pi+ and pi0 single pion
from the proton. Victor Makeev has a fit to
two pion production, and in principle could
generate helicity amplitudes, but it is
not tuned to any actual spin data yet: only xsectins.
2) What did you do to get MAID predictions
above 2-pion threshold? DId you add in MAID 2pi,
MAID Kaon, and MAID eta?
3) It would be good to include the most recent
COMPASS and CLAS (eg1-dvcs) g1 results on the
plots when relevant. Eg1-dvcs is now published
in Phys. Rev. C. and I sent you the tables a while back.
4) It would be great to have a projected
error bar on d2, even if the final result
isn't available yet. I recall that the goal was
to do better than E155x by something like
a factor of two. With all of the problems
that came up, I'm guessing it will be about
the same size error as E155x, which would
still be a good valuable result.
Well, enough from the peanut gallery.
Again, great to see a nice talk!
   Peter
