Can we discuss the sync checks too ?

I think you and Mark started to look at it.

Subject: [Sbs_software] SBS simulation and software working group meeting (FIRST with real data!) Friday, Oct. 15, 1 PM

Hello all,

We will hold our regular SBS simulation and software working group meeting this Friday, Oct. 15, at the regular time of 1 PM US eastern.

Agenda:

General discussion items:

  * Enormous root files/disk space management: what do you really want/need to write in the ROOT tree vs. what can you live without? In other words: Get your detector calibrated and then turn off output of superfluous and redundant low-level/raw information! More reliance on histograms, less reliance on dumping raw information to the root tree
  * Organization/management/coordination of replays on the CH machines (also batch farm). Avoiding redundant replays/moving away from use of standalone individual detector replays
  * When and if to write ROOT files to the tape silo? Probably not before things are better calibrated…
  * Other analysis issues: to-do-list for SBS-offline/Podd (what information do we need decoded and written to the tree that is NOT already in there? High-level info like trigger type? Scalers? Key epics variables? Beam position and current info?)
  * Panguin issues autologging of online monitoring plots. Fixing style and formatting issues with “-p” option. Making root file location easier, pass rootfile or protorootfile arguments via command-line?

Brief review of calibration and commissioning status of detectors:

GEMs: Andrew
BigBite Optics: Holly
HCAL: Scott/Sebastian
BBCAL: Mark/Provakar
HODO: Rachel? David?
GRINCH: Bradley

Other:
Coincidence analysis/timing: ?

If you have anything else you would like to add to the agenda, please send it to me.

We will meet on BlueJeans as usual:

Andrew
