Season's Greetings!
After taking a break last year, the JLab Children’s Holiday Party and Toys for Tots drive is back for 2021. Once again, the SRF elves are hoping you'll consider chipping in a few bucks to help buy some bikes, and be part of our contribution to the annual JLab Toys for Tots drive. $5, $20, $2, $10? Any donation, large or small, helps to brighten the holiday for one more child with a truly memorable gift this season. All the bikes and toys donated by the Lab are gathered up for the annual Children's Party, where they are picked up by the U.S. Marine Corps and then distributed locally. We started doing this back in 2002 and, all thanks to your generosity, we’ve donated a total of 220 brand new, 20" bicycles, helmets, and locks to needy children in the area.
This year's children's party will be held this Saturday, Dec. 4th, so whatever money and pledges we collect this week will go toward bikes. Feel free to chip in to this group fund or not, we realize that some people might rather donate a new, unwrapped toy of their own choosing to the box in the lobby, and that's great, too. If you have any questions, feel free to email me back.
Three ways to chip in on a bike this year:
1) Find me outside the SRF Conference Room (58/1201) after the daily 8:30 A.M. SRF Planning meeting. (I’ll be the one wearing an elf hat and LEDs.)
2) Email a reply with your pledge and we’ll catch up whenever it’s convenient for you.
3) Give the Venmo QR code at the bottom of the screen a try. If anyone is interested in using another method, I’d welcome your suggestions.
Thanks for all your support,
Happy Holidays!
