Subject: [EXTERNAL] PPU weekly update
Cryomodule production is progressing well at Jefferson Lab. The first cryomodule is nearly complete with end cans attached and alignment measurements complete, and cavity string assembly for the 4th cryomodule will begin next week. Fundamental power coupler RF testing is proceeding at SNS, and the air-side coupler components have begun to arrive from the vendor. High-power RF personnel visited CPI and L3-Harris this week to discuss progress on the 3 MW klystron first article and transmitter production. Meanwhile, testing of the first high voltage modulator for the SCL is underway at Alpha-Omega, and peak power operation at 80 kV has been demonstrated today. The Ring injection dump window assembly and spare window have been received from Keller Technology, and the procurement readiness review for the chicane #1 and dump septum vacuum chambers was completed. Installation of Test Target #1 is proceeding, work is underway to support installation of the new MOTS cold trap, and the final design review for gas recirculation and molecular sieves is scheduled for next week. Cable pulls and terminations are proceeding in the klystron gallery and Linac tunnel. The process for achieving demolition of building 8940, which is in the path of the RTBT stub construction, has begun.
Thanks for your support,
Mark
