I had a conversation with a vendor this about cost increases stimulated by Mitch’s steel price email he sent out this am.   See Scott’s response below.  You can see the problems that they are having just getting quotes and why.  Gonna be interesting this year for sure!!!

Thanks and this tracks with what I’m being told by our folks internally too.  Our biggest problem has been supply dragging out lead times so we’re having to order weeks/months earlier on projects than in the past.  Chris just ran into an issue with the sheet for your cryomodule #8 where our vendor was out and the re-supply was on a boat.  They couldn’t tell us when the boat would arrive and they couldn’t tell us the price when it did arrive.  Frustrating.

We’re actually going to build a 3rd facility and I was talking to our President about it last night.  He said when we did our expansion 4 years ago it was $70 a square foot, now he’s looking at $100 a square foot.  40% jump!
