Subject: [EXTERNAL] PPU weekly update

The project office continues to process change requests to consolidate the major known updates into the project schedule before we lock things down in preparation for the upcoming reviews. In the superconducting RF area procurement for air side coupler components was awarded, and at JLab bare cavity acceptance testing from the vendor is going well but we continue to work towards successful acceptance of 4 jacketed cavities for the 2nd cryomodule string assembly. In the RF area cards for low-level RF equipment are arriving, and we expect the 1st circulator to be shipped from the vendor this week after a return for re-work. Also RF loads have been prepared for return to the vendor for rework on a water fitting prior to acceptance, but no high level schedule delay is expected because of this. In the Ring area, the new injection dump vacuum window which will be coated to provide a new beam diagnostic capability is being readied for shipment at the vendor to Stonybrook for the phosphor coating application. This equipment is planned for installation next summer. In the target area, a weld on the test target 1 water shroud is being reworked following an inspection. The delay bed for the mercury off gas treatment system was delivered this week and installation is planned this summer. In the klystron gallery, the punch list for closeout of the contractor work is proceeding with an expected completion this month. Control of this area (e.g. safety postings) has been handed over to the PPU installation group, and the high voltage cable pull to the second new modulator position was completed.

It’s looking like summer out there, have a great weekend - jg
