Subject: [EXTERNAL] PPU update


This week the project office proposed swapping the order of the last two major outages in the power ramp-up plan to accommodate equipment delivery schedules . Also, the December project metrics were reviewed with staff. In the superconducting RF area, the dummy shipping cryomodule was shipped from JLab to SNS and vibration data is being analyzed. The last remaining (8) RF couplers have been processed and are ready to bring to JLab. In the RF area we are refining the acceptance testing plans for transmitters and high voltage modulators with vendors to align with our power ramp-up plan. The first 2 RF circulators were tested at the vendor. In the ring area, the beam power limiting system held the final design review, with no significant recommendations. This was the last remaining final design review for PPU scope. In the target area a bid was accepted for the mercury pump overflow tank fabrication. In the conventional facility area, we are working with the engineering firm that produced the RTBT stub final design package to incorporate STS requested modifications.
