Subject: [EXTERNAL] PPU weekly update


There was a concerted PPU effort this week to prepare equipment for the power ramp-up. The 2 cryomodules installed in the tunnel underwent tests prior to the planned cooldown next week. In the klystron galley, the high-power convertor modulator was run at required duty factor and voltage. Also, the first fully integrated RF production including high voltage systems, convertor modulators, RF transmitters, klystrons, with appropriate interlocks was accomplished. RF power was produced in 5 klystrons. The planned power ramp-up starting in November is presently on schedule. Other installation activities proceeded in the klystron gallery and tunnel for future ramp-up phases, including cable terminations and wave guide installation.
