Dear All,
There is a design and test effort on going in Hall A, to build a detector
very similar to our photon rejecting scintillator pad. It consists of
scintillator pad, WLS fiber, and maPMT for readout:
Experiment: Hall A GEP in the SBS program
Spectrometer: BigCal
Purpose: provide electron trigger
Sensitive layer: Scintillator pads with WLS fiber imbedded for readout
PMT: 16 channel maPMT retired from CDF.
Electronics: (still in design) threshold detection with output for trigger
and TDCs. Each maPMT channel processed

Who to ask for more detail : Bogdan
What for SoLID:
* We may copy this design for photon-rejecting scintillator pad for the
SIDIS experiment
* There are few hundred 16 channel maPMT left in the pool, which we may
borrow or use!
* Proto-type test result that we may cite
* The amplitude/ADC info is not used and not implemented in their
electronics, but necessary if we use it for preshower
Cheers,
Jin
