Hi Prof.Zheng and All:

I will tell SDU group how to insert the fibers. It is not so difficult but need patience, We use 4 hours to do that.

Thanks for your question

Firstly, we will put glue(is as same as the glue of top plate) into 97 Al holes to ensure that every fiber can't move.(need 2 days)

Secondly, we will use blade to cut the fiber along the surface of Al plate one by one. You can image that the glue around the fibers also will be cut, but the glue in the hole will not be cut. Then every fiber and glue are flush with the end Al plate.

Thirdly, we will use sandpaper to make surface smoother.

At last, we will use mirror coating to cover the end plate completely(20 times, 1mm total). Then every end surface of fiber will reflect the light.

Thanks!

Chendi Shen

Hi Chendi:

This is good work. Perhaps you can tell SDU group how you inserted the fibers.

The fiber for sure will transmit light unless if it is completely broken. However, the tricky part is to not damage the cladding during insertion.

I have also a question: How will you make sure the cut end of the fiber to be flush with the end plate of the module?

Thanks,

Xiaochao

Subject: [Solid_ec] should we have a meeting tomorrow?

Dear All:

I am sending this email to see if anyone have results to report for this week. Given that we just had the collaboration meeting, we might consider skipping this week's EC meeting again and communicate by emails.

Please let me know your preference, thanks.
