Cake Seminar
Wednesday, November 2nd at 1:00 PM in Cebaf Center L102
Christian Weiss (JLab)
will discuss a “Peripheral nucleon structure from EFT-based methods: Form factors and transverse densities”
Abstract:
The combination of dispersion theory (analyticity, unitarity) and Chiral EFT (long-distance dynamics)
permits realistic first-principles calculations of "peripheral" nucleon structure with controled uncertainties [1].
We summarize the basic methods, recent results, and future plans in this research program. This includes:
(i) Realistic EFT predictions of low-Q2 nucleon electromagnetic form factors. (ii) Theory-guided extraction
of proton electric and magnetic radii from electron and muon scattering data (Mainz, JLab, PSI) [2].
(iii) Determination of peripheral transverse charge and current densities with controled uncertainties [3].
(iv) Future applications to QCD energy-momentum tensor and GPDs.
