On Wednesday, April 24th, 2024 at 1pm EDT, we will have a cake seminar given by Marco Zaccheddu of JLab in CC F326-327. Please see below for the title and abstract.

Speaker: Marco Zaccheddu (JLab)


Title: Transversely polarized Lambda production within a TMD approach: from e+e- to SIDIS and hadronic processes


Abstract: I will present our latest extraction of the Lamdba TMD Polarizing Fragmentation Function from Belle e+e- data, with particular attention to the role of charm contribution and of the SU(2) isospin symmetry.

Next, I will discuss the impact of these results on the predictions of the transverse Lambda polarization produced in SIDIS processes, at typical energies of the future EIC, and inside a jet in proton-proton collisions. These estimates will then be compared against preliminary data from STAR.
