Theory Seminar: April 29th, 1pm EDT (virtual)

Speaker: Srijit Paul (University of Maryland)

Title: Precision Physics using multihadrons on the lattice

Abstract: Computing low energy hadronic observables using gauge ensembles simulated at the physical pion mass, poses a new challenge of dealing with excited state contributions. Using multihadron spectroscopy to reconstruct the observable of interest is a promising approach to quantify and distill the excited state contributions. We present the efficacy of the pion-pion spectroscopy in the reduction of uncertainty to the lowest order contribution of the hadronic vacuum polarization of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. Potential extensions to other nucleon observables using nucleon-pion spectroscopy will be discussed.

See you on Monday.

Best regards,

Caroline, Joe, and Zheng-Yang
