Please see below for the title and abstract.
Theory Seminar: October 14th, 1pm EDT (virtual)
Speaker: Simone Rodini (DESY)
Title: Twist-3 parton distributions: what are they are and why are they relevant?
Abstract: In this talk I will first review the basics of twsit-3 parton distributions functions (PDFs), with a particular emphasis on collinear PDFs. I will give a brief overview of the relevant processes in which they appear and their connection with transverse spin phenomena. I will then address the problem of their evolution, why is different compared to regular twist-2 PDFs, and how we we able to develop and efficient code to compute the evolution and why is important in practice to use the correct evolution. I will conclude with a brief outlook for the field.
See you on Monday.
Best regards,
Joe, Zheng-Yang, and Gloria
