Dear all,

Today, Wednesday, April 30th, 2025 at 1pm EDT, we will have a cake seminar given by Adam Freese of JLab in CC F224-225 and on the following Zoom link:

https://jlab-org.zoomgov.com/j/1603350140?pwd=oGOK6Eq7IMrA3i19aI3eNqRjCmrpe7.1

This cake seminar will be a bit unusual. Rather than talking about Adam's own research, Adam will use the seminar to summarize a recent workshop on the mechanical properties of hadrons, held in Trento, Italy. The workshop website is here:

Attendance in person is highly encouraged. Please see below for the title and abstract.

Cake Seminar: Wednesday, April 30th, 2025 at 1pm EDT

Speaker: Adam Freese (JLab)

Title: Mechanical properties of hadrons: ECT* workshop summary

Abstract: I will give an overview of the workshop "Mechanical properties of hadrons: Structure, dynamics, visualization", which was held on on March 31 - April 4 at the European Centre for Theoretical Studies in Nuclear Physics and Related Areas (ECT*). This workshop discussed the energy-momentum tensor and its associated form factors for hadron targets, with sessions on "dynamics" (how to calculate the form factors), "processes" (how to measure them), and "interpretation" (what the form factors mean). I'll give a bird's eye overview of the workshop as a whole, focusing on a few talks and controversies I found especially interesting.

See you later.

Best regards,
Joe, Zheng-Yang, Gloria & Adam
