Dear all,
Today at 1pm EST, we will have a cake seminar given by Lorenzo Andreoli of ODU and JLab in CC L102 and on the following Zoom link:
https://jlab-org.zoomgov.com/j/1607375803?pwd=5BazJCiaeS8TJQGVVhgqDehPnWxcGX.1
Attendance in person is highly encouraged. Please see below for the title and abstract.
Cake Seminar: Wednesday, February 26th, 2025 at 1pm EST
Speaker: Lorenzo Andreoli (ODU and JLab)
Title: Quantum Monte Carlo calculations of lepton-nucleus scattering in the Short-Time Approximation
Abstract: The Short-Time approximation, developed in the context of quantum Monte Carlo calculations, allows for the calculation of nuclear responses in nuclei with A≥12. It exploits a factorization scheme that consistently retains two-body physics, both in two-body currents and correlations. I will present calculations of electromagnetic response densities and functions in the quasielastic regime, spanning momentum transfers q=300-800 MeV, along with the corresponding cross sections. I will discuss the need for including relativistic effects and present new developments for incorporating these effects within the QMC formalism, both in the current operators and kinematics.
Looking forward to see you there!
Best regards,
Joe, Zheng-Yang & Gloria
