Sprint cell phone service interruptions on-site

Just to update everyone on the status of the Sprint cell tower across from the laboratory behind Dixie Trailers.  The tower was "reset" last night in an effort to help the situation, but Sprint is not allowed to climb the tower to troubleshoot and make repairs.  A family of osprey have built a nest on the cell tower and osprey nests are protected during the breeding season, which ends in September.  So Sprint is not allowed to climb the tower and make repairs until September.  

The "reset" that was performed overnight did not resolve the issue, but things are significantly better today.  We are working with Sprint and others to explore our options.  More details will be provided as they become available.

As always, to report an emergency, you should call 911 or 9-911 first. Then immediately call Jefferson Lab security (JLab extension 5822 or cell phone 757-342-9868) and advise them of the 911 call, and the nature and location of the emergency.  In most cases, you can use a JLab land line phone.
