Looking at the XY drawing

There are supposed to be shims on each end of each pole which take the 
overall length of the pole from 37.80" to 38.140", aka 0.17" each.  In 
the BOM item 9 it says "pole leveling shim (1008 steel) and hardware 
furnished by machine shop".

Rev A of the drawing,

shows the shims as having an angle and has no text in the BOM.

If the screws holding one or more of these shims backed out and a gap 
formed, or if the shims are in fact angled, this could help explain the 
problem.

There are no specifications for the bolt hole locations for the "filler 
plates" in either the XH or XY drawings.  I will assume the 0.25" gap is 
where the assembly drawing shows it in the end view at F8.

I haven't started building the model yet - I'm just going through the 
drawings to figure out what dimensions to use (or guess).
