specific Benefit to Government statements, more carefully than in

Good morning Foreign Travel Coordinators,

This morning there is new guidance from both the DOE office and Johnathon Huff on how FTMS requests should be created.

Johnathon Huff’s guidance for *Field 28 in section II Benefit to Government*. This field is being scrutinized by the DOE and needs to be written with that in mind. He recommends that the *traveler and their supervisor work together to write the language for this field*. If they need assistance they can reach out to him. He has been rewriting them, but will not be doing so in the future and may reject a request.

Routing Templates have changed once again with very detailed guidance. At this time we are asking that TCs *DO NOT route requests*. The Travels department will perform this duty for the time being as changes are being made on a continuous basis and the new guidance is fairly complex.

I will keep you updated as changes continue.
