Dear Kyungseon,

the situation of COVID-19 in Italy has much improved with respect to
last March, people is restarting some sort of phase III (almost normal )
life.  Most people seem to respect social distancing but an increasing
number of persons start to relax: the worry is for a second wave next fall.

Thank you for your update on the discussion within CCC about RG-K pass1
data processing.

Let me summarize my understanding of the present RG-K status and our
plan for data analysis.

- RG-K pass1 review was successfully completed after one iteration with
the pass1 readiness review committee for all the requested charges

- the pass1 readiness review committee asked the RG-K to clearly
identify which reactions could provide publishable data with the present
cooking

- RG-K has identified two possible reactions and observables:

  * Beam-Recoil Lambda polarization from K+ Lambda electroproduction on
    the proton

where the scattered electron, the kaon and the proton from the Lambda
decay are detected in the forward detector

  * Beam Spin Asymmetry from DVCS on a proton target

where the scattered electron is detected in the forward detector, the
photon is detected in the forward detector or in the forward tagger, the
proton is detected in the forward detector for 10% of the events and is
tagged in the central detector for 90% of the statistics.

The answer to your question is that the central tracking is used only to
tag the protons, without using any momentum information, in one of the
two publishable reaction channels.

**

However the quality of the data analysis cannot be judged at this stage,
before RG-K is allowed to access the data themselves. Formal procedures
to review the data analysis exist within the CLAS collaboration, which
require that an analysis note is produced by the PI and is reviewed by
an appointed committee.
Systematic checks on proton detection efficiency stability could be
produced using proton pi0 electro-production and additional procedures
to perform kinematical checks would be included in the Analysis Note and
any decision on the final quality of the produced results should be
taken "a posteriori".

Finally we have been informed that  cable swapping in some MicroMegas
channels has been found in RG-B data. No evidence yet exist of a similar
problem in fall RG-A and RG-K data, which ran before the engineering
intervention to install 2 MM layers in January 2019.  Any disagreement
with the expected performance may be resolved involving montecarlo
simulations to evaluate the efficiency loss in discarding the
problematic regions.

RG-K is ready and eager to start with data processing.

Should the CCC be willing to organize a BJ meeting in a week timescale,
we would be more than happy to answer all additional questions you may
want to ask.

Best regards

Annalisa for the RG-K
