Below are excerpts from this week's edition of the Jefferson Lab Weekly Briefs.

Registration is Open for the May 13, JAG 30th Anniversary Run-A-Round

Check your running shoes and sign up now. The 30th annual Jefferson Lab Run-A-Round event will be held Wednesday, May 13, 3-6 p.m. JLab staff, users, students, full-time contractors and immediate family members are invited to participate. Staff and users that participate in the run or that volunteer can receive a free 2015 JLab T-shirt. All runners and walkers must register online to be eligible for prizes. Lab-wide Cleanup Set for April 27-30

Jefferson Lab will hold a lab-wide spring cleanup April 27-30 (Monday – Thursday) in advance of a site visit on May 5 by members of the Commission to Review the Effectiveness of the National Energy Laboratories. The cleanup will involve all divisions and all employees. All managers are responsible for ensuring the participation of their individual staffs. The goal is to clean up individual work areas, as well as to remove scrap wood, cardboard, metals, trash and any excess items that may have piled up over time both indoors and out. See memo for details .

Records and Information Management Month Fact of the Week

If you or one of your employees will be leaving the lab (including retiring), there are some steps to follow regarding records. These records management requirements are posted on the lab website at: https://www.jlab.org/div_dept/cio/IR/records/separations.html

Remember, lab records are lab property, and departing employees should not take records with them when they leave.

RIM Trivia Question of the Week

Another film trivia question: Records are evidence of activities. In this futuristic film starring Tom Cruise, three individuals with extraordinary skills predict crimes of violence before they happen, giving cause for the authorities to detain the individuals who will commit the crimes. Name the film. All responses must be received by Kim Edwards by noon on Monday, when a random drawing will take place of all correct answers. One person will win a Starbucks gift card! (Winners will be notified via email no later than 5 p.m. Monday. Limit one gift card win per person.)

CEBAF Center Parking Lot Will Be Impacted During Utilities Infrastructure Upgrade Project

Beginning on May 4, a section of the CEBAF Center parking lot adjacent to the east side of the F Wing (facing Hadron Drive) will be fenced off for the contractor's lay down area throughout the Utilities Infrastructure Modernization (UIM) Computer Center Cooling and Power Upgrade project. The contractor will delineate the area with fencing; 18 parking spaces will be impacted. (See attached image .)

Thanks to Participants of April 14 Blood Drive

Jefferson Lab donors made a significant contribution to the American Red Cross with April's Blood Drive! A total of 34 productive pints were collected, a little short of our goal of 38. The JLab Occupational Medicine staff and the Red Cross, extend a sincere thank you to everyone who participated with this blood drive.

TIAA-CREF will be offering additional Individual Counseling Sessions in the coming months. The consultant will be available to discuss how to help you achieve your financial goals by investing in financial solutions such as mutual funds, brokerage, life insurance and annuities.
