Subject: Workforce Restructuring Plan

Colleagues,

On Monday, I announced to the staff that we will be implementing a Workforce Restructuring Plan. As we plan for the next Fiscal Year and the long-term success of the Lab, we are realigning our resources and talent to fulfill mission requirements and deliver operational excellence within our funding environment. The first step of the Workforce Restructuring Plan is to implement a Voluntary Separation Plan (VSP).

The goal is to attract 65 employees to participate in the VSP which is open to all eligible staff. For those who decide to participate in this voluntary separation program, a separation package will be offered. In the event we are unable to meet the goal of 65 participants through the VSP, we will need to pursue an Involuntary Separation Plan in FY26.

I recognize this may raise questions. I want to assure you that Jefferson Lab has a robust outlook ahead. I am enthusiastic about our future, as well as the hard work and innovative spirit of the community. While change can be challenging, we are taking these steps to ensure the Lab is well-positioned to deliver on our scientific and operational excellence mission. I commit to keeping you informed on the status and other developments at the lab in the coming months.
