The Triangle Universities Nuclear Laboratory (TUNL) and the Department

of Physics at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina seek a

postdoctoral Research Associate with strong interest and experience in

experimental nuclear structure and nuclear reaction studies using gamma-ray

and neutron beams. The accelerator facilities at TUNL for general research

include the High-Intensity Gamma-ray Source (HIGS) and a tandem van de

Graaff accelerator. The HIGS facility has the most intense mono-energetic

and polarized gamma-ray beam in the world. This position is funded by

grants from the Department of Energy National Nuclear Security

Administration and the Department of Homeland Security Domestic Nuclear

Defense Office. The research associated with the position will be carried out

at HIGS using linearly polarized gamma-ray beams and in the tandem

laboratory using fast neutron beams.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in physics and experience in

experimental nuclear physics research. Applications received before
