The ODU Research Foundation is seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in experimental nuclear/particle physics to work with Old Dominion University's experimental nuclear physics group. The successful applicant will be expected to take a leadership role in one of the experimental programs led by our group at Jefferson Lab (Newport News, VA). This includes the GlueX experiment and the K-long Facility in Hall D, as well as experiments in Halls A, B and C. We are looking for a candidate who will also enjoy the opportunity to supervise our undergraduate and graduate students working on these experiments. Interested applicants should complete an application to include: cover letter, CV, a statement of research interests (1- 2 pages) and arrange for three letters of recommendation Applicants should have a recent Ph.D. in nuclear, particle or other related field of physics. Job Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include:

  *   Preparing and running upcoming experiments
  *   Analyzing data obtained in these experiments
  *   Make necessary simulations for K-long Facility beamline
  *   Supervise undergraduate and graduate students
  *   Present research findings at scientific conferences, publish research results in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and participate in the writing of research grant applications.
  *   Other duties as assigned.

The following skills and experiences are required:

  *   PhD in nuclear, particle or other related field of physics.
  *   Previous research experience (at least 1-2 years), which can occur while receiving PHD.
