[DIRC] meeting on Tuesday

Hi Helena,

during the meeting I didn't fully realize that your tracks are now
smeared in X and Z.
This effect is indeed expected to deteriorate the performance of a
cylindrical lens compared to a spherical one. Could you maybe check
what the results for the cyl. lens are if you restrict the X range to
maybe +- 2mm instead of the +- 15mm. This could hopefully be done
without rerunning the simulation, just by applying a cut? For a small
range the resolution of the cyl. lens should be almost as good as the
spher. lens.
That would be a nice check.
It would also tell us that we probably cannot propose a cyl. lens design
in the DIRC since we will have a range of X values as well as a
azimuthal angle from the magnetic field. In that case we may not want to
show and discuss the cyl. lens approach in the proposal or talk.

Cheers,
	Joe
