Hi Tyler,
this is a good question. So far we did not consider mandatory
to have gas lines activated for the electronic panel cosmic
test. If, as agreeded this morning, we want to use and validate
the lines during the cosmic test, then better we figure out
how to plug them.
To have a real answer we should involve Frascati and Argonne
technicians, however I may anticipate my penny:
Cooling: no connector is required, as the tubes will
run in the side rails. However:
- we may want to "seal" the side rails to avoid
backflow and force the flow trhough the exhaust
designeted holes; this can be done with a temporarily
solution, even with foam;
- the tube portion within the electronic panel volume
is supposed to have holes to distribute the air flow.
Depending on your preference, this portion can be the
last part of the long tube or a separate section
(hence with a connector). Indeed it could happen that
we have to change the number and section of the holes
to optimize the flux.
In addition to that, we may want to add the exhaust
tubes to validate their conductance.
Nitrogen: the cosmic box is not design to be gas
tight but may become. Even a simple plastic wrap would
do the job. To place a inlet and outlet should not be a
big deal too.
Ciao, Marco.
