Hello,
Today, just before lunch Marco Mirazita informed me that the monochromator used for the reflectivity test station was not responding.
The monochromator's program was frozen and shown as not responding on the screen.
I tried the following to get it working again:
- power-cycled monochromator
- power-cycled PC
- swapped USB chords
- confirmed that device was seen by PC in device manager
- confirmed drivers are up-to-date on PC
- attempted to use updated version of program from Newport, the monochromator's manufacturer.
- used local version of program installed on PC rather than version on O: drive.
After all of the above, the onochromator still does not respond when using the program. Since the PC shows that it sees the monochromator in the device manager, it seems that it is a hardware issue.
Peter has also looked at the monochromator and came to the same conclusion that it is most likely a hardware issue.
This afternoon, I will contact Newport to see if they have any suggestions and to see if they have one that they could load us to be able to complete the reflectivity measurements.
Best regards,
Tyler
