[Dsg-rich] ECI delivery & pick-up updates for INFN RICH Mirrors

Good morning Tyler,

 

Steve from Global transit called about arranging pick-up of 2 pallets from ECI today, and I told him nothing is ready for pick-up today. Steve will contact you and/or others at JLab to check info.

 

Regarding delivery of CMA mirrors and pick-up of INFN mirrors – Neither can be coordinated for Friday 10/6 as due to an unanticipated paving work that impacts access to all ECI shipping & receiving docks. 

 

Please coordinate delivery of the additional 4 CMA mirrors to ECI for Monday 10/9? (Is this still on time for transit to ECI this week?)

 

Currently, we are still on target to have 2 coated INFN mirrors ready for pick-up from ECI on Monday 10/9.  As instructed, the two boxed mirrors will be place in one larger, well-padded box, which will be secured to a standard size pallets.  I will forward dimension details to you as soon as available.

 

Pending timely approvals from INFN and/or JLab to proceed with processing the remaining 8 mirrors, we still anticipate the following pick-up dates:

 

4 mirrors boxed and ready for pick-up from ECI on Friday 10/20 or Monday 10/23.  These mirrors will be packed in the same packaging and on the same pallet as received from CMA on 9/25.

 

4 mirrors boxed and ready for pick-up from ECI on Friday 10/27 or Monday 10/30.  These mirrors will be packed in the same packaging and on the same pallet as expected to be received from CMA on 10/9.

 

Upon your request, we will do our best to provide you with any additional information or assistance you may find helpful.  We will contact you again when additional package and pick-up details are available.

As promised, here is a the preliminary target schedule for mirror completion and availability at ECI:

 

2 mirrors available for JLab transit pick-up on the afternoon of Fri 10/6 or Mon 10/9.

 

4 coated mirrors available for JLab transit pick-up on the afternoon of Fri 10/20 or Mon 10/23.

 

4 coated mirrors available for JLab transit pick-up on the afternoon of Fri 10/27 or Mon 10/30. 

 

We will contact you again next week with an update about progress for the first 2 mirrors.

 

The two additional pick-up dates for 4 mirrors each may change or be combined into one shipment of 8 depending upon feedback from INFN about test and evaluation results for the first 2 mirrors delivered.

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes: six RICH spherical mirrors were delivered to ECI yesterday, September 25, 2017. We have a conference call scheduled tomorrow, 9/27, with Marco and Marco at INFN to discuss details about how to proceed.

 

We will contact you again after the conference call, and once all scheduling details are worked out, about anticipated shipment timeline. >From previous discussions with INFN, our understanding is JLab will be handling transportation for the upcoming RICH mirror shipment(s) to JLab and we will do our best to give you all the details you need, with as much notice as possible, for efficient coordination of our mutual efforts.

Can you confirm that the mirrors have been received at ECI?

 

Could you also give an estimate on when the mirrors would ship from ECI to JLab after coating?
