[Dsg-rich] Jlab Welding Review

All find attached a welding review note for welding on the Hall B Rich Module Lifting and Stiffening Tool Assembly from G and R Metals with no issues noted for welding or documentation.

Marc, see attached welding documents collected from G and R Metals this morning during our visit. All are acceptable. 

What we received was: 
WPS (welding procedure specification) 
PQR (procedure qualification results with test records) 
WPQR (welding personnel qualification record) 
AWS CWI (certifications for the certified inspector they will be using) 

What we will still need to get from them once the inspection is done by their inspector will be a Visual Inspection Report with inspection results from their contracted CWI (signed and stamped). 
I would like to get this before they ship if we can or at delivery. This can be scanned and sent by e-mail and would be acceptable. 

You mentioned additional fabrications are pending with G and R Metals so if they use the same welder and welding procedure then all we would need from them would be a inspection report for the additional fabrications. 
If they use a different welding procedure or different welders then we need similar documents for these procedures and welders in addition to the inspection report.

Mike, we are actually not leaving the lab until 9:45...so closer to 10:15 at GandR if you are meeting us.

Hi Sandro, 

Ryan from GandR just called me and let me know that he did see any show stoppers with the specification document. However, he did say that the contract between INFN and GandR did not specify the acceptance and inspection by an AWS Certified Weld Inspector which they would have to contract out. This addition would change the price by "not a large amount of money", he has already contacted someone and is working on an adjustment to the price. Once this has been determined he will respond to INFN appropriately. 

Once he has responded, I suggest a meeting with Mike Martin to review the status. 

Our visit is still planned for Monday morning.
