RICH Sector 1 low voltage group 26 was consistently tripping off on an over-voltage condition.
Group 26 is has its low voltage provided by the channel 1 of the module in slot 6 of RICH S1's CAEN mainframe.
The connector on the module was checked to make sure the pins are properly seated in the connector; this did not resolve the issue. During the check it was verified with a multimeter that ~5.2 V was seen at the connector on the module.
Next, using CAEN GECO, the channel was turned on and monitored. We saw that the terminal voltage for the channel was as expected.
We then decreased the set voltage from 5.2 V to 5 V and was able to turn the channel on with no over voltage errors.
With this, it's suspected that upon turning the channel on, there is a current surge that is causing the voltage to rise over its 7 V over-voltage threshold.
The channel's set voltage was returned to 5.2 V, we increased the over-voltage limit for that channel to 8 V, and turned on the channel. It turned on without issue.
Considering the group 26 low voltage issue, resolved, all other LV channels were turned back on.
Future steps will be to continue monitoring the channel in EPICS and GECO to see if the terminal voltage is stable.
