Hello Gianni,

To clarify or add one point more to the summary that you mentioned; the arbitrarily changes from its pre-set values issue also has been noticed while a user at JLab was using only GECO2020 with no external EPICS client as part of the test setup.

Currently, DSG group does not have on hand the  A7435 HV board to get the recommended setup; we do have HV board A7030 that we could use instead. Is that ok for the recommended test?

The serial number for the SY4528 Basic CPU: 0760.

Please send me details instructions to activate this functionality/option in GECO2020, which will help to solve the issues.

Attached is a zip file with the EPIS CSS-BOY screens (.opi files) and Java scripts (.js files that run as part of the CSS screens) used to test SY4527 systems.

this is Gianni di Maio from CAEN.

Greg informed us about the strange behaviours arose during your test in JLAB on our HV Main Frame SY4527.

To summarize the problems:

1. Parameters (VSet, VMax, ISet, RUp, and RDwn), arbitrarily changed from its set values  to random different values.

2. Discrepancies between GECO-2020 values and EPICS PVs values

3.Ramp up/down delay issue.

Considering that  are all problems  that we never experienced in the past with other customers/set up, to isolate each problems,we would like to start from a basic set up , Let say a Main Frame with just one board plugged in directly connected to a computer running only the GECO control software and your EPICS software, for this first test I would use the board A7435.

I wish add that there is a functionality of the GECO that could help us in solve the issues.

The GECO2020 software has an option ( to be activated with a code)  providing Logging capability, this will be very useful for our test and you should activate it.
To provide you the activation code, I need to know the CPU serial number, could you provide it to me?

Once activated the Logging option you could launch your test and see if the problem appear with a so simple set up.
In parallel we would do the same test here in order to reproduce the same behaviour so if for you it is not a problem we would like to have your EPICS software, is It possible?
