Hi Simona,
Just to review what we talked about in EEL 108 since it was a little noisy with all of the crate fans:
The CAEN SY4527 controller's interlock port needs a open/closed contact as it's input. Whether the input looks for a closed circuit or an open circuit between the conductors of the LEMO port is settable by the switch next to the LEMO port.
The details are on pages 17-18 of the mainframe's manual at the link below.

Since you mentioned you were trying to use a NIM output from LED driver board, it will most likely need some other sort of interface between the LED driver board and the CAEN controller for its interlock input.

I ran it from cdaql3.
It can be run from /home/cdsg with ./geco2020

Hi Tyler,

Hi Simona,
I don't know which crate is the one you are using of the two below on the Hall C development subnet in the EEL:
nps-hv1, 129.57.195.130
nps-hv2, 129.57.195.132
>From GECO2020, I can see that both crates on the are configured to use TTL signals for the reset input rather than NIM signals.
There should be an LED on the controller of the CAEN control board that indicates which protocol is used for a way to check from in front of the mainframe.
The setting for TTL vs. NIM signals is under "Tech Info" to the left on the GECO screen and then in the "Front Panel" tab towards the bottom.

Hi Tyler,
I am having issues with interlocking the NPS HV PSs with a NIM signal (from the LED driver). It interlocks as expected when the LED driver kicks out a NIM pulse but it also interlocks randomly when there's no NIM interlocking signal.
Ben told me that you helped Hall B with this problem so I was hoping you could help me as well, if you have the time.
Thanks.
Best Regards,
Simona
