[Eng-div] Engineering Project Code Definitions

With the addition of some project codes to cover the Cryogenics Dept activities and a reorganization of that group along with the questions that come with a new FY, we felt it would be useful to send out updated definitions of what is covered by each Engineering project code. Please find attached and reproduced below a list of the current codes being used in the Engineering Division with their definitions. As you might expect we can't anticipate every contingency in these definitions so if you have questions on where to charge your time or a procurement consult your group leader for guidance.

	Resource Planning & Coord 	ENGOPS 	Will Oren 	Budget, schedule and annual work plan (AWP) prep and budget tracking that is not part of a specific WBS activity. Timesheets, meetings associated with divisional resource planning and scheduling, hiring activities except for travel. Employee evals, counseling and group meetings are included. Labwide functions such as parties. 
	Travel/Training/Staff Dev 	ENGTRN 	Will Oren 	Engineering and staff development training, seminars and colloquia, conferences, reviews, travel in support of non-project specific activities, hiring travel and other activities that develop staff skills/capabilities. Moving expenses for new hires. 
	Safety Improvemnt Efforts 	ENGSAF 	Will Oren 	General safety training, safety warden activities, ITP upkeep, special safety seminars, investigations, Safety Committees, STOP observations, safety stand downs, effort to resolve CATs items. 
	Engineering Mgt/Admin 	ENGADM 	Will Oren 	Captures the costs of Division leadership and administrative support. (Secretarial, divisional leadership and admin support) 
	Lab Lvl QA Process Setup 	ENQACI 	Will Oren 	This project is to capture the costs of implementing processes and procedures that address new QA/CI initiatives. This includes conducting MSA's. 
	Eng Proces/Eqp/Upgr/Maint 		Tim Michalski 	
	Eng Proces/Eqp/Upgr/Maint 	ENGINF 	Will Oren 	Labor and equipment that is not dedicated for specific project or activity use. General use engineering equipment (scopes, meters, theodolites, etc.) Desktop computers, software licenses, shop tools and equipment, repair & calibration, shop cleanup and organization. Procurement of general use equipment and non specific spares inventory parts. Generally the indirect costs of keeping an organizational unit functioning both for production as well as keeping up with technological advances. Labor and material costs are incurred here 
	Engineering R&D 		Tim Michalski 	
	Operational Improvements 	ENGRDO 	Will Oren 	R&D efforts to improve current and future operations & system capabilities. This includes speculative research for basic process and procedure improvements. This picks up procedure and technical developments for "tools" not operational equipment tied to physics research such as ESR or installed RF systems. 
	CHL Operations 	CHLOPS 	M. Wright 	Labor and equipment dedicated to the support of CHL1 and CHL2 operations. Includes the parts and supplies and the engineering, tech, and purchasing support to operate, maintain, repair and improve the CHL1 and CHL2 cryogenic facilities. This includes the LINAC transferline systems and cryogenic support of LINAC cryomodules. 
	ESR Operations 	ESROPS 	M. Wright 	Labor and equipment dedicated to the support of ESR operations. Includes the parts and supplies and the engineering, tech, and purchasing support to operate, maintain, repair, and improve the ESR cryogenic facility up to the bayonet cans at the end of the transferlines into Hall's A, B, and C. 
	CTF Operations 	CTFOPS 	S. Radovic 	Labor and equipment dedicated to the support of CTF operations. Includes the parts and supplies and the engineering, tech, and purchasing support to operate, maintain, repair, and improve the CTF cryogenic facility up to the bayonet cans at the end of the transferlines into the TestLab. 
	Hall D Refrigerator Operations 	HDROPS 	S. Radovic 	Labor and equipment dedicated to the support of HDR operations. Includes the parts and supplies and the engineering, tech, and purchasing support to operate, maintain, repair, and improve the HDR cryogenic facility up to the bayonet can at the end of the transferline into Hall D. 
	Liquid Nitrogen 	NITOPS 	M. Wright 	This covers only the LN2 usage by CTF, CHL's, HDR and ESR 
	Helium 	HELOPS 	M. Wright 	This account covers helium usage for the refrigerator complex. It does not cover helium request for other projects like Hdice or target work which is stand alone. 
	Accelerator Site Power Bill 	SITEPW 	W. Oren 	The totality of the power bill from the substation(s) inside the accelerator fence 
	Power Load Management "Rebates" 	PWREB 	W.
