Hi Jessie,
At the beginning of the downtime, priorities were set such that both Halls B and C must be ready for Physics on August 22. If Hall A is ready that would be great, but the priority and requirement was for B, C and D to be ready on that date.
To be ready the systems must be checked before August 17 and the earlier the better. If Halls B and C are checked while Hall A is still on the 80K portion of its cooldown, then any issues will have less of an effect versus if they happen while Hall A is in its 4K cooldown.
To be sure that they are ready, both Hall B and C must power their magnets ASAP. There have been some issues at CHL so recovery compressor capacity is limited and will effect all of us.
Hall B is planning to ramp on Wednesday. If any magnet dumps then what ever delays must be absorbed by everyone. There is lots of survey work in Hall B today, Thursday and Friday that will have to be rescheduled if Hall B ramping is delayed so keeping to this date is important. Testing includes ramping both magnets to full field and a low current Fast Dump of the Solenoid from ~500 amps to test the new relief valve heater system. This Fast Dump of the Solenoid will put a bump on the recovery system which should be short lived.
I have checked with Javier to see if priorities have changed and he has spoken to Rolf. The priorities have not changed. If you have questions please let me know.
Thanks
Dave

Subject: Hall C Testing
Hi Steve,
We are currently in the process of cooling down our magnets in Hall A so we are flowing back on warm return. Dumps in Hall C (or Hall B) will affect our progress and likely create issues within our cryogenic and vacuum systems. Is it possible for you to postpone these tests until Hall A is cold and on cold return? At the current rate, Hall A should be on cold return and stable NLT Aug 17th.
Thanks,
Jessie Butler
